Faxes! - Updated August 1, 2004

Faxes are an outmoded way to solicit business and consumate contracts in most cases. The computer using PDF formats is far easier to use yet still comes under similar legal restraints. The computer can be a way to eliminate the use of toner and paper–an all around better deal for the environment!

However, there are certain bottom feeding businesses that insist on breaking the law by sending unsolicited faxes and faxes without a posted "origination" phone number. These companies phone numbers should be monitored by your telephone company which can place a trap on your line. The offending company should also be brought to the attention of the FCC that may be able to fine these companies, on your behalf, up to $3000 per incident. After all, they are marketing their products at your expense without your consent.

When brought to my attention, all companies of this nature are posted at Getem.Net with a red paw. You may also submit a PDF copy of your unsolicited fax to Getem to initiate another posting.
